Hwa-myeon
화면은 빌라오아시스 아트 스튜디오와 국제터프팅협회 설립자인 배소현과 옹지엠므의 대표인 서문영으로 이루어진 팀이다.
배소현은 미국 테네시주립대학교 의류학과를 수학하고 울산대학교 생활과학대학 의류학과 학사를 졸업하였다. 서문영은 한양여자대학교 패션디자인과를 졸업하고 숭실사이버대학교 디지털디자인학과 학사를 졸업하였다.
프랑스 메종오브제 박람회에 참여하였으며, 숨 : 호흡의 정원 (노들섬 노들갤러리, 서울, 2025), 런던디자인페스티벌-The Sun is but a Morning Star (그레이트 풀트니 스트리트 갤러리, 런던, 영국, 2025), Indigo Dreams in the Coral Kingdom (한국뉴욕주립대학교 현대의상박물관, 인천, 2023), PARANG (피아크, 부산, 2023) 등에서 진행한 기획전에 참여하였다.
라인프렌즈, 르꼬그스포르티브, 기장 힐튼 아난티코브 등과 협업하였다.

화면(花面)은 일반적으로 러그나 카펫 제작에 주로 쓰이는 터프팅 기법을 순수미술의 영역으로 가지고 왔다. 털실의 길이, 밀도, 색상 등을 조절하여 자연의 요소들을 입체적으로 구현하여 평면회화나 기존의 입체 작품에서는 느낄 수 없는 독특한 시각적, 촉각적 경험을 제시하고 있다.
<Among the Silent Plains>는 화면의 ‘시들지 않는 생명’ 시리즈 중 하나로, 터프팅과 텍스타일 플라워를 결합한 작품이다. 이 작품은 프랑스 전시를 마치고 런던으로 가는 기차 창밖의 풍경에서 영감을 받았다. 끝없이 이어지는 평야는 목표를 달성했다는 안도감과 동시에 새로운 여정을 앞둔 긴장감을 품고 있었고, 그 감정의 결이 푸른 고요와 붉은 생명이라는 두 축으로 작품에 스며들었다. 고요함과 긴장, 생명과 침묵이 공존하는 그 순간, 현실과 환상의 경계에 피어나는 또 하나의 정원을 경험해 보자.
Hwamyeon brings the tufting technique—traditionally used in rug and carpet making—into the realm of fine art. By adjusting the length, density, and color of wool yarn, they give natural elements a sculptural presence, offering a distinctive visual and tactile experience beyond that of painting or conventional sculpture.
<Among the Silent Plains> is part of Hwamyeon’s ‘Eternal Life’ series which combines tufting with textile flowers. The work was inspired by the landscape seen from a train traveling from Paris to London after an exhibition in France. The endless plains carried both the calm relief of achievement and the quiet tension of a new beginning. These intertwined emotions unfold across the work in shades of blue silence and red vitality. At this moment where stillness and tension, life and silence coexist, the artist invites viewers to step into a garden that blooms on the border between reality and reverie.
